Music
Audio Vibe
The audio direction should blend dark fantasy, royal court drama, cosmic weirdness, and absurd comedy.
The sound should feel like:
- A haunted throne room
- A skeleton king's court
- A magical bureaucracy
- A strange kingdom simulator
- A comedy trial show inside a cosmic mausoleum
The music should be memorable but not overwhelming. Since the player will spend time reading petitions and making choices, music should support decision-making rather than distract from it.
Throne Room Theme
The throne room theme should feel regal, eerie, and slightly ridiculous.
Suggested elements:
- Low choir pads
- Slow strings
- Harpsichord or plucked strings
- Deep bells
- Soft cosmic synths
- Occasional bone-like percussion
- Subtle milk-glass clinks for absurdity
Mood:
Majestic skeleton court with a suspiciously competent dairy department.
World Map Theme
The map theme should be broader and more strategic.
Suggested elements:
- Slow drums
- Traveling strings
- Distant horns
- Light choir
- Ambient wind
- Soft mystical pulses
The map theme should make the player feel like they are managing a living territory, not just opening a menu.
Mood:
A strange kingdom breathing under BLB's rule.
Petitioner Sting and SFX Rules
Each petitioner should have a short arrival sting or sound identity.
Examples:
- Bone Guild: clacking bones, hammer tap, ledger stamp
- Milken Order: soft chime, liquid pour, choir hum
- Minion petitioner: little foot shuffles, nervous bone rattle
- Merchant: coin jingle, wagon creak
- Threatening envoy: low drum, metal scrape
- Supernatural petitioner: reversed choir, cosmic shimmer
- Comedy petitioner: tiny trumpet, awkward cough, squeaky door
Stings should be short. They should help the player identify petitioner type without becoming annoying.
BLB Voice / TTS Direction
BLB's voice should be deep, dry, regal, and amused.
He should sound like:
- A cosmic skeleton king
- A tired judge
- A dungeon master who has seen too much
- A dad who knows the petitioner is lying
- A monarch who can destroy you but would rather make a ruling and move on
BLB should not sound constantly evil. He should sound powerful, strange, funny, and oddly reasonable.
Possible voice traits:
- Deep resonance
- Slight echo
- Dry comedic timing
- Calm authority
- Occasional cosmic distortion
- Rare bursts of theatrical intensity
Absurd Court Comedy Sound Palette
The comedy sounds should be used sparingly. The game should not become a cartoon soundboard.
Good sounds:
- Bone clacks
- Scroll snaps
- Stamp thunks
- Awkward coughs
- Tiny bells
- Milk bottle clinks
- Minion murmurs
- Distant cow sounds
- Courtroom murmurs
- Cosmic rumbles after stupid decisions
Bad sounds:
- Constant goofy boings
- Meme spam
- Random modern sound effects
- Overly loud jokes
- Sounds that undercut important consequences
The rule:
Funny sounds are allowed, but the court must still feel like a real place.
